USE OF LEASED FACILITIES

     Lessee agrees to use the leased facilities only for the purposes stated on the lease agreement.

     Lessee shall not permit the leased facilities to be used for nor conduct any activity prohibited by any applicable law or regulation.

     Lessee shall not permit any lewd, indecent or lascivious conduct in the leased facilities. This includes but is not limited to nudity, full or partial.

 

USE OF KITCHEN

     If specifically provided in the lease agreement, lessee may use the kitchen facilities. Use of the kitchen facilities is limited to tables, refrigerators, and warming of food that has been prepared elsewhere.

     If food is to be served, lessee will utilize the services of a licensed, insured caterer or a certified food handler and comply with the applicable regulations of the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Governing Food Service Facilities, Title 12, Code of Maryland Regulations and the Prince George's County regulations governing food service facilities.

     If the kitchen facility is used, lessee MUST clean the facility following it's use.

     Unapproved use of the kitchen facilities is strictly forbidden, and will result in immediate termination of the lease agreement without refund.

 

LESSEE RESPONSIBILITES

     Lessee shall be present and remain on the premises for the entire period of the rental.

     Lessee is responsible for all damages to the premises, including furniture and fixtures and shall promptly reimburse lessor for the reasonable cost or replacement and/or repairs.

     Lessee shall ensure that the number of people allowed into the leased portion of the premises does not exceed the number approved in the rental contract. Violations will result in the immediate termination of the event with no refund.

     Lessee shall comply with all applicable State and County laws and regulations.

     Lessee must comply with the following restrictions concerning use of the premises:

          No confetti, rice, birdseed or similar material is allowed to be used and weddings, receptions or any other event, either inside or outside the building. Any liability or damages incurred do to such use will be the responsibility of the lessee.

          Decorations are limited to tables and walls and must be easily removable.

          Ceilings are not to be used to decorate. Nails, screws, duct tape and similar tapes are not allowed.

          Free floating balloons are not permitted. Secured or weighted balloons may be used, and must be removed by the client before departure.

          Lessee, or the lessee's caterer is responsible for decorating, skirting, utensils, table settings, etc.

          Lessee agrees to restrict attendees to the specific facilities rented. Unauthorized use of other areas is expressly forbidden.

          Lessee shall ensure that the leased facilities are vacated at the scheduled time. NO EVENT may be scheduled past 2:00 a.m., lights on at 1:45 a.m., music off at 1:50 a.m.

 

HOLD HARMLESS

     Lessee agrees to hold lessor harmless for any damages of any nature whatsoever, including, but not limited to, personal injury and property damage arising from  lessee's use of the leased premises.

 

RENTAL PAYMENT

     A deposit in the amount specified in the rental contract must be paid in order to reserve a facility.

     The balance of the rental contract is due two weeks before the scheduled rental and must be paid by cash, cashier's check or money order. Failure to pay the balance due two weeks prior to the event will result in cancellation of the rental and forfeiture of the deposit, lessee shall remain responsible for the balance. In the event that a replacement rental is obtained, lessee shall be entitled to a credit or refund not to exceed the amount of the replacement rental.

     Within the sole discretion of the manager, a late payment may be accepted in the form of cash only.

 

CANCELLATION

     Lessee may cancel a scheduled rental at any time prior to sixty (60) days before the scheduled rental. All deposits paid by the lessee will be refunded.

     If a lessee cancels a scheduled rental less than sixty (60) days prior to the rental, lessee shall be required to pay the full amount of the rental. In the event a replacement rental is obtained, lessee shall be entitled to a credit or refund not to exceed the amount of the replacement rental.

 

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND REFRESHMENTS

     The lessee may NOT sell nor provide free alcoholic beverages.

     Individual attendees may bring alcoholic beverages into the leased facilities so long as all requirements of the Prince George's County Board of License Commissioners are complied with.

     Lessee may provide non-alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, mixers, snacks, etc.

 

SOUND EQUIPMENT

     Lessee will assure that speakers etc., will be placed per the Hall Manager's instructions, maintained at an acceptable volume and faced in the direction that will not violate sound restrictions applicable to the residential area in which we reside. Violations will result in immediate termination of the event with no refund to the lessee.

 

DJ

     Lessee shall obtain the approval of the Hall Manager prior to the employment of a DJ. Any substitutions shall also require prior approval of the Hall Manager and must be for good reason. Bands are not allowed unless specifically approved by the Hall Manager.

 

ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION

     Advertising and promotion of the function operated by the lessee shall be limited to word of mouth or small hand bills for which the lessee is responsible. Advertising to the general public by radio, television, posters, pole notices or any other form of promoting the function to the general public is prohibited.

     Lewd, lascivious, indecent or other advertising content which depicts violence or other improper conduct is prohibited.

     Internet advertising shall be subject to the above prohibitions and must be directed at a limited audience and not the general public.

     Violation of the above rules by the lessee, his/her hires or contractors may result in the cancellation of the contract and forfeiture of all deposits paid. All advertising of any nature shall be approved by the hall management before dissemination occurs. The management of the hall will have complete and sole discretion to determine if advertising for the event is acceptable for use.

 

SECURITY

     Lessee agrees to utilize the number of security officers specified on the rental agreement and pay them prior to the beginning of the rental.

     Lessee agrees to cooperate fully with directions or requests from security officers or hall attendants. This includes terminating the rental if directed by the senior security officer present. If a rental is terminated for security reasons, there will be no refund of the rental fee.

     No weapons of any kind are permitted on the rented premises.

     No narcotic drugs or controlled substances are permitted on the premises.

     All persons entering the premises shall be subject to search.

     Lessee shall provide at least one person to conduct searches in the presence of a security officer when necessary.

     Lessee shall provide notice in all advertising media and tickets that all persons entering the premises shall be subject to search.

     Lessee shall enforce the age limit specified on the rental agreement by checking ID at the door.

     Lessee shall enforce the dress code specified in the rental agreement.
